January 15, 2025. Hi Reader! How did 2025 receive you? The first weeks of the year often feel like a mix of hope and uncertainty, don’t they? Wherever you find yourself, remember that the best way to stay grounded is to pause the overthinking, go for a walk, and connect with someone you trust. This time, I want to share a short Zen fable with a brief reflection. Here it goes: Once upon a time, by the bank of a river, a scorpion asked a frog for a ride across the water.
“I can’t do that,” said the frog. “If I carry you, you’ll sting me, and I’ll drown.”
“Why would I sting you?” replied the scorpion. “That would be foolish. If you drown, I’ll drown too.”
The frog paused, trusting the scorpion’s logic, and agreed.
Halfway across the river, the scorpion stung the frog.
As the poison took hold, the frog gasped, “Why did you do that? Now we’ll both drown!”
The scorpion calmly replied, “I couldn’t help it. It’s in my nature.”
It’s tempting to see ourselves as the frog—trusting, hopeful, and ultimately betrayed. We look at others as scorpions, bringing harm despite reason or logic. But here’s the twist: the story isn’t about two different types of people. It’s about the forces within us. When we judge others, we play the game of polarization. We defend our opinions, counter-attack, and seek validation. We exhaust ourselves in the process, losing peace of mind. At times, we are the frog, ignoring our instincts and getting stung. But other times, we are the scorpion, sabotaging our own peace without realizing it. The real wisdom in the story is learning to recognize both the frog and the scorpion within ourselves. When do you ignore your instincts? When do you sabotage your peace of mind? Perhaps this year, instead of falling into the game of judgment and overthinking, we can step back, observe, and choose differently. What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts. March 4, 2025. Hi Reader Have you ever thought about integrating the different facets of yourself into one mission? Over the years, I’ve realized something: the IT Pro, the social entrepreneur, the mentor, and the coworking founder aren’t different stages of my evolution. They are aspects of me calling for integration. I often see people puzzled by my work—they don’t fully understand what I do, why I do it, or how I generate revenue. And that creates a bigger problem: potential customers...
February 25, 2025. Hi Reader! Creating a space where people can be themselves is, in my opinion, the essence of community building. This applies to teams, companies, clubs, and, of course, families. When we feel comfortable and safe, we are naturally more at ease, ready to connect, and open to being as authentic as possible. Isn't it easier to share an opinion when you feel safe, respected, and included? But what happens when we feel the need to validate ourselves? When we try to fit in with...
February 5, 2025. Hi Reader! A few weeks ago, my friend and mentor Michael told me something that stuck with me. Paraphrasing, he said:"Your life is already having a big impact no matter what you do." That made me pause. I know I’ve always had a generalist approach, juggling different things—Fear & Fail and the Fear Enough book, Aurora Coworking, SozialMarie and social entrepreneurship, mentorships, workshops, even working in my orchard. And I love it all. But Michael’s words made me ask...
