November, 2024. Dear Reader, This one is short, I hope you find it useful. Doubts or questions? just reply :) "Know thyself" was the first thing I heard during Franklin Covey's leadership training program. For years, I misunderstood it entirely. How could I ever become a leader if I first needed to "know myself"? And how could I truly know myself when life is constantly changing? It took nearly thirty years to realize that "thyself" doesn’t refer to my personality. Our personality evolves—it adapts to time, situations, and circumstances. The essence of "knowing thyself" is about discovering within us a source of freedom, unconditionality, and peace. When we no longer seek validation or feel the need to compete, defend, or manipulate outcomes with hidden strategies, we can finally embody the natural characteristics of a leader: compassionate, inspiring, driven, generous, inclusive, wisely cautious, and creative. So, what was the issue with that training program? The trainers themselves didn’t understand what "know thyself" truly meant. They saw leadership as just another skill—a tool for achievement. I wish you a great November! Sincerely, Jose. One-on-one mentorshipMy topics are Life Purpose, Fearlessness, and Life entrepreneurship.
